Every roaster has one coffee they’d hand a stranger. Mine is the House Blend — the bag I’d give you if we just met and you asked what Quadrina’s is about.
The House Blend is built for mornings: smooth, balanced, and easy to drink black. No single note shouting over the others — just a clean, steady cup that tastes like coffee is supposed to taste when the beans are fresh.
It’s the blend I recommend to anyone trying Quadrina’s for the first time, because if you like it, you’ll like everything else on the shelf.
The House Blend shines in a pour-over, and it’s easier than it looks:
1. Boil water, then wait 30 seconds. You want it just off boiling — around 200°F.
2. Grind fresh, medium-fine — about the texture of sea salt.
3. Rinse the filter with hot water first. It washes out the paper taste and warms the dripper.
4. Bloom: pour just enough water to wet the grounds, then wait 30–45 seconds. The coffee will bubble and rise — that’s the fresh roast releasing gas.
5. Pour slowly in circles, keeping the water level steady, until you’ve used about 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water. Total brew time: around 3 minutes.
That bloom step matters more than people think — and it only really works with fresh-roasted beans. Old coffee barely blooms at all.
